We just enjoyed a vacation. Spending all day every day in God’s glorious creation was deeply refreshing. It was also a trek of trust.

I had steeled myself to trust God with poisonous snakes, which we only saw twice on our hikes. What I had not steeled myself for was the roads. I have ridden on the back of a boda-boda down the rutted clay hills around Kampala. I have been on roads in Manila during a monsoon. I have heard people screaming from the close calls on Jamaican roads, but I was not ready for the too- narrow-for-one-car, two-way traffic on mountain roads with no guard rails and sheer drop-offs to flash-flooding rivers.

Jesus commands his disciples, “Do not be anxious about your life.”  And, everywhere I looked, I saw reasons not to worry. “Consider the birds of the air.”

“Consider the lilies of the field.”

“O you of little faith”

But, little faith in a big God!
